Updates on First-Party attribution and dealing with relationships within BusinessLeague
Codruț Baciu /We’re shooting for better 1st Party Attribution and more equitable rewards for Marketers. That’s why we’re so excited to announce an essential update to our 1st party attribution system, Big Bear, launching on April 14th, 2025.
So what’s new?
Well, we have upgraded Big Bear so that cookies are now saved in multiple storage locations. This change enhances tracking reliability and significantly boosts attribution accuracy.
As a result of this update and widespread adoption, Big Bear now captures more sales than previous methods. That’s not bad.
To reflect this improvement and ensure fairness for Marketers, here’s what happens: Merchants not using 1st party attribution will now give an extra 25% to Marketers (an increase from 20%) for sales tracked through 3rd party attribution (iframe).
This change is fair, as it helps compensate for sales that may not be tracked accurately without Big Bear in place.
To sum it up
- The changes come into effect on April 14th
- 1st party attribution improvements are expected
- A higher level of fair-play in attribution for Marketers is expected
- Better adoption of Big Bear attribution is expected
In other important news, there will soon be a new way for dealing with relationships within the platform starting April 23rd.
Older invitations received by Marketers from active stores (15 days):
